Service Description: A registered charity that operates a volunteer run food bank that accepts food donations to distribute to Oakville families in need

Food Bank
  • If you are in need of food assistance please come to the Food Bank during operating hours
  • no appointment needed
  • can assist with baby food, formula and diapers
  • program participants are eligible to receive a week's worth of food, once each calendar month
  • currently provides groceries to approximately 800 Oakville families 

Donations
  • non-perishable food can be dropped off at all Oakville Fire Stations and most Oakville Grocery stores, in their collection bins
  • bulk of non-perishable food comes from food drives held at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas

  • financial donations are vital and needed to purchase fresh fruit & vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, cheese, and a variety of other items
  • tax receipts are issued on site or mailed/emailed if requested
  • please call to make sure someone is there to receive your donation; we often have volunteers available outside of our regular operating hours

Application:

  • visit during open hours

  • no appointment is needed

  • if you are not a registered client, you will be required to produce government issued photo id for all adult family members (i.e. Driver’s License, Health Card) or Immigration documents/passports; and Health Cards or Birth Certificates for all children in the family

  • Unless new to Canada, for each adult over age 18, a Notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada or other proof of income (latest OW/ODSP statement) is required to assess eligibility

  • students/international students are not eligible
