Service Description:

Responsible for public fire safety education, inspection duties, fire investigation, code enforcement and plans review Provide fire prevention education through fire safety presentations to industry, businesses, organizations and community groups Fire Prevention Programs include:
Learn Not To Burn
- a children's safety education program
Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C):
- offers support for families with children who play with fire
- all calls are strictly confidential
Home Fire Safety Awareness
- educates residents about the importance of fire safety in the home
Sparky the Fire Dog
- makes fire prevention fun for kids
Fireworks:
- for recreational events federal law permits sale of fireworks just seven days prior to Victoria Day and Canada Day celebrations
- the Town of Oakville bylaw requires that any groups wishing to hold public displays obtain permission from the Fire Prevention Division to whom application in writing should be made one week prior to the event
