Service Description:
|
Financial program provides a subsidy (to a maximum of $350) on a per-household, per-year basis to help Mississauga's most vulnerable residents with the costs of grass-cutting in the spring and summer, as well as snow-clearing in the winter * the subsidy is from January 1 to December 31 of the current year and application must be submitted by March 31 of the following year
NOTE: program is for financial assistance only and the City of Mississauga does not remove snow from residents' driveways
Application must be submitted for approval at the end of the season and applicants must be able to provide receipts or other documentation verifying the claim

Eligibility / Target Population:
|
Must be a Mississauga resident who resides as owner or legal tenant in the residential property for which the yard maintenance subsidy is required (applicant must be staying in the residence at the time the services are provided) * able to provide receipts * not living in a high-rise or similar multi-unit building * the only person making application for subsidy at this municipal address * not have anybody living at the residence being capable of providing yard maintenance (16 yrs of age or older) * 65 yrs of age or over and in receipt of monthly Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) under Part II of the Old Age Security Act (Canada) * or handicapped or physically disabled and in the receipt of benefits under the Ontario Disabilities Support Program (ODSP) or in receipt of assistance under the Ontario Works (OW) Support Act
