Service Description: SPLIT helps with public transit costs for low income residents in Burlington, Milton and Oakville; and ActiVan tickets and taxi scrip dollars in Halton Hills
  • offers eligible low income Halton residents a subsidy for a portion of their local travel expenses
  • cost varies depending on whether you are a student, adult or senior and in which municipality you live  

Once you qualify, you can buy your bus pass or tickets:
  • Burlington Transit, 430 John St
  • Milton Town Hall, 150 Mary St
  • Oakville Transit, 430 Wyecroft Rd 

ActiVan tickets and Taxi Scrip dollars may be purchased at the following locations:
  • Hillsview Active Living Centre, 318 Guelph Street, Unit 9, Georgetown
  • ?Robert C. Austin Operations Centre (by appointment only), 11620 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown
  • Hillsview Active Living Centre, 415 Queen Street E., Acton

Documents required for application for Burlington, Milton and Oakville residents:



  • most recent Notice of Assessment from tax return for all family members over the age of 18

  • government photo identification

  • seniors must prove eligibility for the senior fare

  • proof of address in Halton Region

  • sponsored refugees must provide immigration papers


Documents required for application for Halton Hills residents:



  • a registration card for the ActiVan or Taxi Scrip Program from the Town of Halton Hills

  • government photo identification

  • proof of address in Halton Region

  • sponsored refugees must provide immigration papers

Eligibility / Target Population: Eligibility for Burlington, Milton and Oakville residents:
  • students, adults or seniors living with a low income may qualify
  • government and privately sponsored refugees may also be eligible

Eligibility for Halton Hills residents:
  • students, adults or seniors living with a low income may qualify
  • registered ActiVan or Youth Taxi Scrip Program users
  • individuals receiving assistance from the Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program, government and privately sponsored refugees may also be eligible
