Service Description:
|
Breast screening for early detection of breast cancer in women
Screening includes mammography (x-rays of breast tissue) * screening results are sent to both the woman and her doctor * help to set up extra tests or referrals if needed
Women who receive normal results are automatically recalled for their next screening appointment * women who receive abnormal results are referred to their doctor for further investigation, or are referred directly for additional tests * this location also screens women aged 30 to 69 years who have been confirmed to be at high risk for breast cancer (also facilitates referrals for genetic assessments and and offers annual screening mammography and breast MRI for women)
