Service Description: Provides care for pediatric cancer patients from our community, helping to reduce the amount of time they must travel to Sick Kids Hospital for medical procedures and blood work * all children will continue to be diagnosed in tertiary programs which will develop, monitor and modify their individual treatment plans throughout the course of their care

Services include:
  • chemotherapy
  • blood work/blood product transfusions
  • follow-up care
  • consultations
  • education
  • central line care
  • blood specimen collection
  • X-ray, ultrasound tests and CT scans
  • medication administration
  • supportive care

POGO Provincial Pediatric Oncology Satellite Program transfers aspects of a child’s care, for eligible patients, to a community hospital closer to home * POGO Financial Assistance Program provides relief by reimbursing families for some of the costs they incur * POGO is responsible for the administration of this program, with 100% of the funding coming from private-sector fundraising
