Service Description:
|
Providing care for women during their pregnancy and during their birth, and postpartum care up to six weeks following the birth * has a special focus of working with women in difficult life situations, including new immigrants and refugees, women fleeing abusive relationships, teens, or those with other social issues that affect their lives and the lives of their babies, even if they do not have an Ontario health card * East Mississauga midwives have admitting privileges at Mississauga Hospital and (Credit Valley Hospital, effective 8 Oct 2025)
The government of Ontario also provides funding for routine lab tests and ultrasounds, pregnancy-related physician services, and supplies for a home birth

Midwifery care is covered by OHIP except hospital stays, laboratory fees, and physician fees if doctor involvement is required
