Service Description: Non-profit, community-based and faith-based charitable organization that uses knowledge, skills, community relationships, voluneteers and other resources to create and promote safe and affordable home ownership options with the aim of alleviating the cycle of poverty within the community


Building projects:
Builds new homes for low income families * homes are built by volunteers with donated materials and services


ReStore:
Accepts donations of overstocked, used, discontinued items and salvageable building materials donated from manufacturers, other stores, local contractors and the public * items that are donated include new and gently used furniture, building materials, appliances, cabinetry, sinks, countertops, household and décor items, lighting  * donated items are sold to the public at a reduced cost, typically 30-70% percent less than the original retail value * all proceeds used in construction of future Habitat homes 


Volunteer opportunities:
Recruitment, coordination and administrative support * build co-ordination * youth outreach * procurement * reception * ReStore plumbers, electricians, cashiers, warehouse support

Fees: Based on ability to pay * depends on cost of house * no interest, no profit home mortgages (capped at 30% of the home income)
Application: Call * application process for eligible families
Eligibility / Target Population: Families with low income living in substandard conditions * must be willing and able to repay loan * must be willing to commit 500 'sweat equity' hours
