Service Description: Provides a one-time grant (up to $650) for low income households who are behind their hydro bills (or $780 home is heated electrically) * it is intended for emergency situations only *  pre-screen clients to determine eligibility * help clients to complete a LEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program) funding application if they qualify for the program * lower income family may also qualify for a reduction on their electricity bill through the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) by applying a monthly credit directly to their bill * the amount of credit depends on how many people live in the home and combined household income * applicant may qualify for a higher level of assistance if they have medical devices at home such as kidney dialysis machine, mechanical ventilators

For help with Enbridge gas bills, contact United Way of Greater Simcoe County (lead agency) at 1-855-487-5327 for assistance with the process

Ontario Electricity Support program (OESP) provides monthly on-bill credits for lower-income customers to reduce their electricity bills * apply and complete the application online at OntarioElectricitySupport.ca
