Service Description: Provides a one-time grant (up to $500) for low income households who are behind their hydro bills and may face service shut off * it is intended for emergency situations only * Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre (DBNC) is the lead agency as well as intake agency for Alectra Utilities in Peel Region * pre-screen clients to determine eligibility * help clients to complete a LEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program) funding application if they qualify for the program * lower income family may also qualify for a reduction on their electricity bill through the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP)


For help with Enbridge gas bills, contact United Way of Greater Simcoe County (lead agency) at 1-855-487-5327 for assistance with the process

Ontario Electricity Support program (OESP) provides monthly on-bill credits for lower-income customers to reduce their electricity bills * apply and complete the application online at OntarioElectricitySupport.ca
