Service Description:

Psychosocial oncology team consists of social workers, a psychologist, and psychiatrists that can help patients with:- specialized treatment for symptoms
- stress
managementdepression and depressed feelingsspeaking to children and teens about cancersexual healthloss and griefspiritual or religious concernshelp with navigating the healthcare systemfinding information and community resourceshelp to connect with financial programs Supportive care team is made up of dietitians and a medication access specialist (drug navigator) * dietitians offer both individual counseling and group sessions * drug navigator can also give information and counselling about the side effects patients may have and how to best manage and/or prevent them * medication access specialist can help if the patient does not have a drug plan or if the drug plan does not cover the cost of certain cancer treatment drugs * some costs of the treatment may be tax deductible, visit Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or call 1-800-267-6999 for more information
