Service Description:

Halton Healthcare offers a complimentary patient email service for individuals who cannot come to the hospital for a visit- send a greeting via email by providing the full name of the patient in the subject line, including room number or unit, if known * a volunteer will print the message, seal it and arrange for delivery * volunteers are unable to open attachments * greetings will only be delivered to current inpatients that have chosen to be listed in the hospital directory * hospital is not responsible for e-mails that are misdirected, lost or accidentally deleted from the message system
- letter mail can also be delivered to each patient care unit with patient's home address should be included as the return address, so if they are discharged before they receive their mail, the letter can be forwarded to their home address
- pet visits must be pre-arranged and are limited to dogs, including guide dogs * visits are permitted for Complex Continuing Care or Rehab patients who have a prolonged hospital stay
- video calling feature is available on all bedside patient entertainment terminals, making it easier for patients to connect with their loved ones while staying in the hospital * this service is completely free for patients and families and does not require any device rental
