Service Description:
|
A fully operational police division providing Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigative Services
- Staffed 24 hours a day to facilitate walk-in reporting of minor offences or vehicle collisions
- Background check request done through the front desk during normal business hours
- Patrol Officers respond to calls for service, protecting life and property, preventing occurrences and ensuring public safety
- Community Liaison Officers and Community Mobilization teams maintain ties with the community and participate in programs that are designed at strengthening community relations
- Criminal Investigation Bureau investigates criminal offences that occur within the Divisional boundaries and work closely with agencies when criminal activity extends across multiple jurisdictions. Units within this bureau include: Domestic Violence, Robbery, Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Criminal Warrants and Recognizances
- Neighbourhood Policing Unit place officers in area high schools to maintain a presence with the youth population and work directly with teachers and parents to ensure youth are on the right path to a great future
- Bicycle Patrol Officers patrol parks, pathways and wooded areas of 21 Division and they are also used at special functions (parades and special events)
