Service Description: A state-of-the-art facility, designed to train and improve the skills of firefighters

Campus includes:
  • Training Division offices and classrooms
  • multi-use practical training situations
  • realistic and practical simulations allow crews to respond to fire, rescue and medical scenarios in and around a simulated streetscape

The six-acre facility features:
  • live burning tower
  • driver training area
  • water rescue pond
  • working traffic lights
  • hydro poles
  • manholes
  • level railway crossing

Simulations allow firefighters to gain real-life experience in a controlled setting. Possible simulations available at this facility include:
  • firefighting and rescue
  • technical rope rescue
  • water and ice rescue
  • auto extrication
  • confined space rescue
  • hazardous materials response
  • emergency medical
  • campus creates a community based facility capable of realistic, multi-company drills for fire personnel, and larger scale emergency simulations for other emergency services
  • organizations currently using the facility include outside fire and emergency services, accredited educational institutions and local industry and business
