Service Description:
|
Provides in-depth assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders * assessment includes a thorough review of the patient's medical history, oral motor examination, Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Study (VFSS) using barium contrast of various textures, detailed review of results and recommendations, individualized rehabilitation plan, if appropriate * initial assessment for video fluoroscopic swallowing study takes place at Mississauga Hospital (100 Queensway W), Department of Diagnostic Imaging * if swallowing rehabilitation is scheduled, in-person therapy sessions take place at Queensway Health Centre (150 Sherway Dr) * virtual therapy also available * run by a team of CASLPO Registered Speech-Language Pathologists
