Service Description:

The Public Education Office of the Oakville Fire Department is responsible for fire safety education.

Programs and events are offered throughout the year include:

School education programs

available when requested by teachers
staff will attend schools and provide an education lesson to children
focus is on grades 4 & 5, however staff are available for younger ages and teenage groups/classes

Cooking for Teens Fire Safety program

Fire safety education for older adults

a fire safety officer will attend a variety of seniors groups and locations with messages prepared specifically for this group

Fire safety for multicultural groups in the community

contact the office for special presentations for groups from a variety of ethnic backgrounds

Home Fire Safety Awareness program

involves visiting homeowners and discussing fire hazards in the home

Station tours

are available to the community for school children, Beavers, Girl Guides and Boy Scouts

each year, attempts are made to heighten public awareness of fire safety by hosting a Kick-Off to Fire Prevention Week
look for this event taking place in Oakville at the end of September
